'My' kde-4.0.98 (aka kde-4.1.0-RC1) is currently 'hammering' the kdebase-runtime package. kde-4.1.0 has a new 'sound' infrastructure called 'phonon', which is causing troubles. I'm now 'through' the problem that it did not want to find alsa, but the compile fails with 'unknown error/unknown interface' at the moment.

As a 'side-operation: i'm attempting to 'netboot' zenwalk: those kde-package-build runs are long, and they do give me some time to deal with some experiments. The zenwalk packages repo has everything you need to netboot, except the rom contents. Those are easily downloaded using www.rom-o-matic.net (gPXE..). There is still some 'hand-work' to be done after that (dhcpd.conf, pxelinux/nfs-exports etc...) and you need to compile a kernel with 'nfs' non-modular & ip autoconfig, than -i think- you can netboot zenwalk from a zenwalk machine.

Also: experimenting with avahi/nfs/konqueror to get browsing nfs exports operational.

Idle: no, quiet: yes ;-) A good time for games, as you see ;-)

Peter
