I finaly recompile the kernel using the kernelsource (make && make modules_install) everything is working properly now.
I add to reinstall madwifi as well as NVIDiA but now it is a peace of cake for me :)

Did the module load with the new kernel?  The new kernels seem to be 
getting very skimpy on loading an overabundance of modules like it use 
to do.  Try a "lsmod" to check?
