Interesting... Which madwifi package do you use & how do you use it? do you have to blackmail the ath5k kernel module?

(I'm having trouble with the broadcom/atheros wifi device of my new laptop ;-) )

    reinstall the kernel package
    depmod -A

    reboot

Did the module load with the new kernel? The new kernels seem to be getting very skimpy on loading an overabundance of modules like it use to do. Try a "lsmod" to check?
