Michael, (aXxium)
As I was working on a customer's machine to convert him to Zenwalk, I
decided to help him with this midi as well. In finding the programs on
our mirrors, Rosegarden mostly, I noticed our "jack" was way out of
date and we didn't even have the Qjackctl available!
As I see jack was last done in Jan '07 by you, I decided to build the
latest version and update the build file. I will attempt to get
Qjackctl going next, but I wanted to ask you, if you would mind me
taking over jack for the mirrors?
Seems like there are several people working with midi and music using
Zenwalk. I believe JP keeps or use to keep TuxGuitar for us, so music
seems to be a good draw for other users to Zenwalk, I think. For that
reason, I would like to keep some of these needed files updated for
everyone and would appreciate you letting me maintain jack. I have
used your build file, thanks for that, to hopefully update it to
Zenwalk standards now.
Oh, yes, this midi stuff is more difficult to deal with than I thought,
so any suggestions to make it easier would not go unnoticed by me.
Extra karma points to those with thoughts. ;-)
I'm also considering bringing MuSe onboard as well as Audacity. I
thought til was doing audacity, but I couldn't find it in his repo.
Both sound a bit easier to use with midi, so that was my interest in
those.
Thanks!
Pat (BandiPat)
